Cannabidiol News March 10 2019
2019 ” I was in attendance”.
Scott Salisbury reporting.
“Imagine walking into a Doctors office and asking the question… which is the best drug doc” Charts, X-rays, medical history, no matter let me know the best without all that. Imaging having a contest for the best drug. If there were an award for a country that allows opioid overdose deaths “allows is the keyword” we may win that one. I digress. Back to the expo…
CBD was the buzz. If some booth was not selling CBD they were talking about bringing CBD into the mix. Co-packers and white label companies stopped by our booth Epic Labeling Solutions one after the next after the next after the next needing labels, auto labeling solutions, and on-demand label printing. During my breaks, I walked around and met some really good CBD companies as in their people were knowledgeable, forthright and caring.
Walked by a booth and noticed…
Endocannabinoid System on the back wall banner and on the front of a 2 pill packet the tag line “beyond CBD”.
There was though, in fact, no CBD in the Product. I was told by the person in the booth that this line of product is in 2,500 stores and on Amazon too. According to the gentlemen I spoke with he stated products with CBD in them can’t be sold on Amazon. I can’t verify this however I believe it to be true. When one googles up Full Spectrum Hemp Oil you are presented by Google, links to Amazon’s Full Spectrum Hemp Oil Category. Once you click on the link you are presented with pills, tinctures, salve and so on. In looking into the product itself “digging down” into the ingredients section, not one of them state CBD.
Side note, this does anger me about Google making money from Amazon being able to dominate the category search “full spectrum hemp oil”. You see full spectrum hemp oil should mean CBDA, CBD, CBN, CBG, THC-V, Like Kanabia, has on their packaging. Full spectrum hemp oil affords an entourage effect in part because of CBDA, CBD, CBN, CBD, THC-V. So if the products are non-cannabis how can this be? It can’t be.
What we do know is that there are ingredients that support the Endocannabinoid System, which modulates and moderates all of our systems.
Does the question become in what way does it support the Endocannabinoid System? Of course, it does.
On the packet from this same booth…
- Dr formulated
- More comprehensive than CBD alone
- Full-Spectrum Phytocannabinoid Support
- Drug test compliant -safely non-cannabis. (no cannabinoids)
And there it is. No CBD and non-cannabis. Which means no CBDA, no CBD, no CBN, no CBG, and no THC-V.
Health and Human Services “patent application”
US6630507B1 awarded 2003
The cannabinoids (yes cannabinoids) are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and HIV dementia.
And there it is right smack in front of us the FDA pathway.
A. Buy support products for the Endocannabinoid system. non-cannabis.
B. Buy drugs that have Cannainboids in them. HHS owns the patent on Cannabinoids. yes-cannabis.
The one little bump in the road though? before CBD it is CBDA. The farm bill is allowing at a federal level the growing, selling and transport across interstate lines of Cannabis with a less than .3% THC threshold. There is no mention of a CBD threshold. There is no mention of a CBDA threshold. And for those of you who want to write me back and suggest it is hemp, don’t. The genre is Cannabis.
The product that proudly states on their packaging Full Spectrum Hemp oil? Kanabia.
- Vertically integrated means from seed to shelf this company grows and moves product through their own supply chain.
- Full Spectrum hemp oil means you have a contingency of Cannabinoids and terpenes too.
